Planning meals is the bane of my existence.  Honestly, I don’t know where the day goes and before I know it I have a toddler that wants to be fed again….  I’ll be real, I’m not great at it, but I am learning.

Now since I’m writing our meals down now, I thought I might as well share them here.  I do not spend hours in the kitchen and if I can make another mums life a bit easier, then Yay!  Go the sisterhood.  If not, selfishly I have a record of our past meal plans for ideas down the track.

I’m not a nutritionist, I’m a mum who is learning her way through feeding a growing family and working on removing fake foods and numbers.  I’m not there yet, but I’m closer than I was!

I don’t plan by the day, rather I try and do a cook up at the start of the week and then share the ideas to mix it up, because frankly, I don’t want to eat chicken if I feel like steak!

Here’s whats on  the menu this week…

Coconut cupcakes – Alexx Stuart
Cracker & avocado
Blueberries & yoghurt
Fruit (Apple or pear slices) spread with nut butter
Cheese cut up on plate
Cracker or veggie sticks & hummus
Eggy bread / French toast
Avo on toast
Eggs & soldiers
Fruit & yoghurt with toast & nut butter
Ham & cheese snack plate
Nut butter sandwich & a piece of fruit
Ham and cheese quinoa muffins – thermomix recipe
Sausage rolls
Spinach egg slice
Winner winner chicken dinner with steam veggies
Spaghetti bolognese
Cottage pie with sweet potato
Fried rice
Fish pie & salad
Quinoa Mexican bowl
Steak & salad – I’m mildly obsessed with Cape Grim Steak, so good!
My win this week was finding a tomato sauce at Harris Farm that wasn’t packed full of preservatives.  I also bought hummus, this week instead of making it.  I’ve got a severe case of the holiday Lazies….  I should also note that I offer fruit at the end of each meal, the favourites this week are oranges, white peaches, bananas and blueberries.
If you have a family favourite, I’d love to know what it is….  I feel like I’m always on the look out for fresh ideas!

Let me know if you’d like the recipes for anything, I’ll try and work them into the blog over the next few weeks.  Happy Cooking and eating!
