Planning Baby’s First Adventure To Hepburn Springs

Organising the first family vacation after having a baby is immensely exciting. However, there’s also a lot of pressure and stress involved, not least when it comes to finding the perfect destination. The Hepburn Springs area in the state of Victoria is easily one of the leading candidates.

The small resort town is built for tourism and is particularly accommodating for families with young children. It’s close to Ballarat and is within a 1.5-hour drive of Melbourne too. This means that you can enjoy fantastic excursions while still enjoying the relaxed vibes for the bulk of your family adventure. That has to make it a winner in anyone’s books.

So, how can you ensure that it’s the perfect holiday for both baby and the rest of your traveling party? Here’s all you need to know.

Make The Travel Comfortable

If we’ve discovered just one thing from our extended road trip around the country, it’s that travelling with a toddler requires a lot of items. Without packing the car properly, you are opening yourselves up to a holiday nightmare. Seriously, this must be the first thing on your agenda.

There’s a good chance that you won’t be exploring Australia with the same degree of detail as we have. So, if you’re visiting from a little further afield, there’s a good chance you’ll be flying into Melbourne. As with the car journey, a lack of preparation will cost you dearly. Try to find suitable flight times, and always carry the necessary hand luggage to keep baby occupied and happy.

When renting a car, always go one size above what you think you’ll need also.

Be Prepared For The Weather

Compared to many of the tourist resorts in the country, the Hepburn Springs area boasts comfortable temperatures all year. Still, despite being a resort town, you might not always get everything you want from the local amenities. So, it’s always worth packing the high factor sun lotions, hats, and other protective items.

Meanwhile, you should also consider the rainfall. While you’re unlikely to be forced inside for the whole holiday, this location does receive its fair share. Once again, being ready for those climate conditions will go a long way to taking enjoyment to the max. For yourselves as well as your little angel.

Stay In Daylesford

Hepburn Springs is a wonderful location. For the ultimate sense of tranquillity, though, you should consider staying in the Daylesford area. It has all the charm of the main resort town but with its unique identity too.

Finding fantastic Daylesford accommodation isn’t difficult either. The privacy is something that anyone with young children will enjoy while the immense luxury allows adults to relax in style. Furthermore, simply having a greater sense of control can go a long way to making this the best break you’ve ever experienced.

Great accommodation is an important aspect for all vacations. However, this factor is more important than ever now that you have a young child. After all, you’ll realistically spend a lot of time here, especially in the evenings. Use this as the foundation for building the perfect getaway and you will not regret it.

Hire Bicycles

There are many things to see and do in Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. Even the most basic research into the area will tell you about the Mineral Springs Reserve, Chocolate Mill, and historical places. Given that you’ll almost certainly visit those places, I won’t tell you too much about them. Instead, I’ll leave that to your own explorations.

However, this is a truly beautiful part of the country packed with breathtaking sceneries. For an all adult traveling party, hikes are a fantastic idea. However, long walks with a youngster aren’t particularly easy. Hire bicycles with accessories that enable baby to enjoy the ride too. You’ll be able to see more of the local area in a quicker time, and it’ll cause far less strain on your body. Given you’re on holiday, this should be considered essential.

Sometimes the simple things in life are the best, especially on vacation when you get to explore new places. Frankly, it could be one of the best days of your entire adventure. Besides, overly exhausting activities are

Remember It’s About You Too

Enjoying the holiday with your little loved ones is an amazing thing. However, the vacation is supposed to be a chance for you to recharge the batteries too. Visiting the local spas provides the ultimate sense of relaxation. As such, no family trip to Hepburn Springs is complete without it.

If you are travelling with a group of adults, this retreat could be the perfect excursion for couples to celebrate their love. Alternatively, you could put baby in a creche for a few hours. Should neither of those options be viable, take it in turns to get that relaxation. Seriously, as new parents, your bodies need that time for child-free rest.

Appreciate Home Comforts

For adults, leaving the normal surroundings is a breath of fresh air. For kids, though, it can be quite daunting. As such, it’s imperative that you go the extra mile to make this aspect a little easier on your child.

Babies need a lot of products like sterilisers. Your accommodation may provide these, although you might still want to use your own. Meanwhile, it’s important that you bring their comforters like teddies. Likewise, toddlers will benefit from having those products, especially when it comes to bedtime.

Of course, you don’t want to bring your entire home with you. Nonetheless, acknowledging that young children need that stability is essential for holiday happiness. Even when you’re in a great location like Hepburn Springs.

Verdict

Hepburn Springs is the perfect destination for a family break, whether you’re going for a weekend or a fortnight. Nonetheless, traveling with young children comes with a unique set of requirements. As long as you pay attention to each of the above key factors, you should be just fine.

Baby’s perfect first adventure awaits.
