Body Image Boosts For New Mums, That Aren’t All About Weight

There is a lot of pressure on new mum’s these days to snap back and look great very quickly after giving birth, even if that isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do when you are getting no sleep, and your priorities have just had a massive rearrange. Consequently, new mums can feel a little down on the way that they look, even though it’s entirely natural to have gained a little weight, you have been nourishing a protecting a life inside your for months after all! So instead of focusing on weight issues and toned tummies why not look for a different sort of image boost? Read on to find out more.

Smile

A body image boost that has nothing to do with weight is caring for you smile. After all, it’s something that is going to get a lot of use over the coming year, beaming at Baby when he says his first words and takes his first step. There are a lot of things that you can do to improve your smile. One is to use whitening techniques to make your teeth seem brighter. You can get home kits and strips to help you do this, although it is a good idea to check that are safe to use when breastfeeding. If you are unsure contact the manufacturer or ask your pharmacist.

However, if you have a tooth that is crooked or discolouration that hasn’t been improved by traditional whitening methods then a consultation with a celebrity dentist, one that employs all the latest techniques from Invisalign braces, to porcelain dental veneers and injectables for aligning the jaw. Obviously, this may entail a little more work than just a whitening procedure, but the results are sure to give you that much-needed confidence boost that you are looking for, and the best thing is that you don’t have to go anywhere near a diet or exercise plan to get them!

Make up

Something else that can help to give us new moms a boost is refreshing our makeup routine. In fact, it is such an easy thing to change, and it’s something that you can do whether you are at your ideal weight or still on the journey to get there. It’s work particularly well for new mums because you can include a short shopping trip, either with Baby or as some alone time, to pick up some of the newest products. You can even get an appointment at the local makeup counter and have your makeup done for you. Then you get to sample the latest products and see how to apply them as well.

In particular, refreshing our makeup look can be useful for new mums because it’s bound to increase our feeling of self-confidence, as well as helping us to address certain target areas that might not have been so problematic pre-birth, such as eye bags or dullness due to lack of sleep.  

So if you are feeling in need of a simple, quick boost why not treat yourself to some new items for your makeup bag, as it’s bound to give you the lift you need.
